O Que é a Doutrina de Balaão?
(Ap. 2.14)
According to scholars, the doctrine of Balaam was not different from that of the Nicolaitans, except one thing. The content and practice are identical. While the Nicolaitans practiced infidelity against morality and holiness, with the intention of enjoying eternal life. The Balaamites did the same things, for the purpose ofworshiping a god / goddess, having sexual relations with priests or priestesses. Sothe only distinction between the two groups was idolatry, that the followers ofBalaam committed.
This group has received this name (followers of Balaam) of the Lord Jesus, likenedby the prophet who lived in the days of Moses (Num. 25. 1-5, 31. 15.16). Prophetwho was hired by King Balak of Moab to seduce the Israelites to sin of idolatry, by the lure of beautiful young women, to persuade to join cults, where orgies took place, and every kind of immorality, performed to the gods / goddesses of the people. Thus was happening in the church of Pergamum. Some brothers andworkers said that believers could participate in all sorts of paganism.
