Judaism in Jesus' day was divided into four sects: Pharisees, Sadducees, Essenes and Zealots. The Zealots sought and fought for national independence. They believed that Jesus Christ would fight to free the Jews from bondage (servitude) of the Romans. For the word messiah (Christ in Greek) meaning anointed, which was used in the coronation ceremony of kings in Israel. With this expected Jesus to be a political king, who fought against the Roman Empire. When they realized that the Savior did not express revolutionary ideas in his teachings and speeches, they rejected him as Messiah. It is believed that Judas Iscariot was a zealot, who realize that the Master would not fight for the cause of the group had been very disappointed so far as to betray him. That the true motivation of Judas was not the thirty pieces (which were played in the sanctuary). But non-adherence of Jesus to the plight of the Zealots.

   And he said unto them, Go and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils and do cures today and tomorrow, and I finished the third day (Luke 13:32).

Only publicly Herod received a word of contempt and insignificance from Jesus. By calling him "that fox" was culturally affirming concepts and symbols that the word connoted. The Jews used it to mean a shrewd man. She also had the feeling of destruction. Still represented a symbol of something insignificant. Jesus only said it because he knew too well the inside (thoughts and desires) of Herod. The Master knew he was the kind of leader who wanted to please the Romans as well as Jews. Therefore, Herod is a symbol of leading churches or believers who want to please God while the world
